Research interests

My research focuses on the ecology and evolution of stream invertebrates. Using molecular methods I hope to reveal patterns of population differentiation as evidence for ongoing speciation and infer the evolutionary history of selected groups of caddisflies and other aquatic invertebrates. I am especially interested in organism groups with high numbers of local endemic species, e.g. the caddisfly subfamily Drusinae. I am also interested in assessing the ecological quality of running waters using macroinvertebrates.
